Discipline… How it affects our lives!

Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 7.55.29 AMI often speak of consistency and the predictability that it brings to our lives. Yet speaking about consistency is a great concept and the theory is good. But it’s only ACTIONS that count. We need discipline to get ourselves moving but the real problem we often encounter is that we are too busy with many things and easily miss the important things.

This is true for many people and the fact that they are busy, have no time to think or put into action the really important things needed for their success.

This argument sounds solid and many decisions in our lives are based on this way of thinking, yet there is a fundamental flaw and that is this type of thinking lacks discipline. We can assume that we doing the right thing, but are we totally convinced we doing the right thing? No because when we get small measurable successes it will build on our belief in ourselves and give us the ability to implement discipline. We need to simplify our lives down to the root of what causes us to be undisciplined. It could be a bad habit that we have always challenged ourselves to stop, yet have never found sufficient discipline to really kick the habit – this could be smoking, binge eating or drinking, the unwillingness to exercise regularly. Anything that disrupts the flow in our lives or has the ability to remind us that we are failing in some area of our lives, has the ability to limit the possibilities of who we could actually be and success in our lives. This indiscipline often causes us to be reminded that we are failing. When we challenge and overcome these bad habits, we are often able to overcome really challenging circumstances in our lives … It all starts with the small victories.
